Le Gealaí i mBaile Átha Cliath
08/10 DUBLIN | The Ambassador Theatre

Where could be more fitting for the cailíní to wrap up their Le Gealaí tour than just down the road from the GPO in the Ambassador Theatre, O'Connell Street?
Dress code: short skirt and strong boots optional, in honour of Countess Markievicz herself!
“The phrase ‘le gealaí’ literally translates to ‘with the moon’ which means going mad. We’re all well-acquainted with the trope of ‘mad women’ - women who don’t stick to the status quo. This show is a celebration of mad femininity while drawing on our usual folkloric references and rooting it all in the Irish language,” – How to Gael.
How To Gael is Ireland’s number one bilingual podcast. Hosted by broadcasters Doireann Ní Ghlacáin, Louise Cantillon and Síomha Ní Ruairc, the podcast quickly amassed a cult following at home and abroad after its launch in 2023. Mar thriúr ban navigating their 30s, Doireann, Louise and Síomha are living, working and socialising as Gaeilge in a way that is suimiúil, spraíúil and just good craic. You may not learn the modh coinníollach, but from discussing their favourite lines in Irish literature to rationalising the necessity of weekly blow dries (a.k.a. ESSENTIAL), these mná represent a new generation of Gaels. After joining CWB management in 2024, How To Gael launched its second season, making the switch to full video. Since then, the cailíní have brought the podcast ar an mbóthar with live shows in Ireland, the US and Canada in partnership with MCD, and performed at Other Voices, Electric Picnic and Galway Comedy Festival… Agus tá neart eile fós le teacht!
